Peanut Butter Blossoms

Hershey’s kisses are amazing.  Those were my absolute favorite candy/chocolate when I was a kid.  Well, before I found my love for Skittles and Starbursts.  These cookies combine the wonderful Hershey’s kiss with a chewy peanut butter cookie…can’t go wrong there!

This recipe typically calls for milk chocolate Hershey’s kisses, but I used dark chocolate this time.  I would HIGHLY recommend this change if you tend to prefer dark chocolate.  So rich and yummy!

YIELD: 3 dozen cookies or more

TIME: 1 hour

INGREDIENTS
1-3/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp milk
Hershey’s kisses
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla

DIRECTIONS
Beat all ingredients well except dry ingredients.  Blend in dry ingredients gradually.  Shape dough into balls and roll in sugar.  Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 375 F for 8 minutes.  Press one Hershey’s kiss on each cookie until the edges of the cookie crack.  Bake 2-5 minutes longer.

Hope y’all enjoy!

xoxo, Sara

  1. I always did like these. It reminds me that there are a few Reese’s peanut butter hearts stashed in the cupboard…
